A 260 MW light source at 7 μm center wavelength as a path to strong field science in the far infrared

Abstract

We demonstrate a far infrared source (7 μm) with pulse duration of < 120 fs and pulse energies of 31 μJ. Additionally, we show a clear path to achieving GW level peak power.
