Quantum Networks based on Cold Rydberg Atoms and an Optical Nanofiber

Abstract

We discuss recent experimental progress towards realizing a quantum network based on Rydberg atoms trapped around an optical nanofiber. Initial tests are designed to demonstrate the formation of Rydberg atoms next to the dielectric surface.
