Ultra-small on-chip polarization splitters in hybrid plasmonic waveguides

Abstract

Based on the large modal birefringence and the different field confinements of the transverse-electric and transverse-magnetic modes in the hybrid air-dielectric-metal waveguide, ultra-small on-chip polarization splitters are experimentally demonstrated.
