Gain-spectrum flattening in a wideband parametric amplifier at 1.0 μm

Abstract

We demonstrate gain-spectrum flattening in a 40-dB ultra-wideband fiber parametric amplifier at 1.0 μm by incorporating the birefringence of gain medium. A bandwidth of ~100 nm with ripple less than 8 dB is achieved.
