Four-photon light-atom interface based on Raman scattering for quantum memories and telecommunication

Abstract

We report first experimental realization of an atom-light interface based on four-photon Raman interaction. We are able to couple light resonant to excited state transition and ground-state atomic coherence using a single warm atomic ensemble.
