Hilbert-Space Analyzers: Basis-Neutral Modal Analysis via Generalized Optical Interferometry

Abstract

We demonstrate a ‘Hilbert-space analyzer’ capable of projecting optical beams onto any modal basis by exploiting an inherently stable interferometer in which the traditional delay is replaced by optical implementations of fractional transforms.
