Generation of Surface Plasmon Polaritons with Controlled States of Partial Coherence

Abstract

We formulate a framework to generate polychromatic surface plasmon polaritons with any states of partial electromagnetic coherence at a metal-air interface by controlling the correlations of the exciting stationary or pulsed light beam.
