Diffractive Orbital Angular Momentum Demultiplexing Elements for Underwater Optical Communications

Abstract

Diffractive elements based on coordinate transformations have been realized at 450 nm for demultiplexing orbital angular momentum states and can be applied to an underwater communications link. System efficiency of ~80% was obtained experimentally.
