Anderson localization in the deep subwavelength regime

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate localization of visible light in deep subwavelength disordered multilayers with ~15 nm layer thicknesses, making it possible to sense 2 nm thickness variations in individual layers, and provide analytic and numeric explanations.
