Prospects for Multi-kJ Plasma Amplifiers

Abstract

Plasma amplifiers potentially offer a route to low cost, high efficiency, multi-kJ, tunable laser pulses. I will describe numerical simulations underpinning careful experiment design and interpretation to optimize this process at the University of Rochester.
