Abstract

We report on the formation of Laser Induced Periodic Surface Structures in Poly (ethylene terephthalate) and Poly (ethylene terephthalate)/Expanded Graphite films. The quality of the ripples depends strongly on the irradiation time and fluence per pulse. The characterization studies show that some physical properties of the surfaces improve in the presence of these nanostructures. No chemical changes are observed after irradiation.
