Abstract

A spatial frequency domain point spread function for Fourier telescopy imaging is defined and its properties discussed. The function is given by the inverse Fourier transform of the object illumination intensity distribution, or, equivalently, by the autocorrelation of the Fourier telescopy source distribution.
