Dielectric veins type photonic crystal as a zero-index-metamaterial

Abstract

In this paper we present a dielectric veins type two dimensional photonic crystal which acts as a zero-index-material. The underlying principles is the existence of a Dirac cone at the center of the Brillouin zone.
