Liquid Crystal Elastomers (LCEs) Dynamics in Response to Visible Light Illumination

Abstract

Liquid crystal elastomers are elastic materials that deform by illumination. The LCE film dynamics under different visible light frequencies is simulated. The results illustrate rapid deformations at higher frequencies with greater resultant forces.
