Increasing Sensitivity of an Atom Interferometer to the Heisenberg Limit using Enhanced Quantum Noise

Abstract

We show how, by using a Schroedinger Cat state, the sensitivity of an atomic interferometer can be increased, to the Heisenberg limit, while enhancing the quantum noise, thereby suppressing strongly the effect of excess noise.
