Progress on supercontinuum generation of highly nonlinear fibers at NTSC

Abstract

We report on supercontinuum generation in four types of highly-nonlinear-fibers (HNLFs) pumped by 1.56-μm laser solitons. Experimental measurement results provide guidelines for choosing and using HNLFs for erbium-fiber-based optical frequency combs and their applications.
