Topology of High-k States in Quartic Metamaterials

Abstract

We study the short-wavelength waves in quartic metamaterials. The quartic k-surfaces feature from 0 to 4 cones, longitudinal polarization E,H k and perpendicular to k group velocities, which leads to negative refraction in quartic metamaterials.
