Measurement of Effective Nonlinear Coefficients in Few-Mode Fibers

Abstract

The averaged intra- and inter-modal effective nonlinear coefficients in few-mode fiber are experimentally measured by exploiting self-phase and cross-phase modulation effects. Results are in accordance with predictions using Manakov equation.
