High-power, high-coherence mmWave generation based on integrated microresonator solitons

Abstract

We demonstrate millimeter-wave generation at 100 GHz through direct photodetection of microresonator solitons. Our method produces 6 dB gain in power and reduces the linewidth by two orders of magnitude compared to conventional heterodyne de-tection.
