Non-contact detection of underwater objects through the laser-induced acoustic source

Abstract

The time-frequency analysis of acoustic signals from nanosecond laser-induced breakdown of water revealed a broad spectrum. Impedance mismatch due to an object and water-air interface modified the reflected spectrum leading to non-contact detection.
