300-Gbit/s PAM-4 Transmissions Using a Low-Complexity Blind Volterra Nonlinear Equalizer in SOA-based Hybrid WDM-FSO-PON Transmission Systems

Abstract

This paper reports 300-Gbit/s proof-of-concept PAM-4 transmissions demonstrating a hybrid WDM-PON system with integrated fiber/FSO links. A power budget in excess of 30.8-dB/λ is achieved using an SOA and a truncated blind Volterra equalizer.
