Ultra-High Intensity Temporally Oscillatory Optical Kerr Effect in Carbon Disulfide

Abstract

A femtosecond Kerr gate is constructed in liquid CS2 to study the effect of extremely high optical intensities in the generation of Kerr related phase changes. Kerr gates are shown to become elongated and oscillatory.
