Optimization of Adiabatic Frequency Conversion in an All-Pass Resonator

Abstract

We analyze theoretically the energy efficiency of adiabatic frequency conversion (AFC). We determine analytically the AFC efficiency’s upper limit and optimal input pulse shape. We examine the efficiency’s dependence on the process’s timescales.
