Investigation of Pointing Error Tolerance of Fermat Spiral Array-based Coherent Beam Combining

Abstract

We report the comparison of beam combination efficiency and pointing error tolerance of Fermat spiral array with the conventional hexagonal geometry for coherent beam combining, which shows that the Fermat array exhibits better efficiency but tighter pointing error tolerance.
