Polarizability and Stark Shift in Ultra-intense Lasers

Abstract

We present the polarization and Stark shift of atomic bound states from beryllium to uranium in ultrastrong fields up to 1022 W/cm2. The impact on tunneling ionization rates in relativistically strong fields is presented.
