Optical Communication Around Opaque Occlusions Using Electronic Encoding and Diffractive Decoding

Abstract

We introduce a free-space optical communication scheme that uses electronic encoding at the transmitter and a passive all-optical diffractive decoder at the receiver to directly communicate optical information around fully opaque occlusions.
