All-Optical Reconfigurable Low-Threshold Nonlinear Activation Functions for High-Precision Neural Network

Abstract

All-optical reconfigurable and ultra-low-threshold nonlinear activation functions are experimentally demonstrated based on a high-Q microring resonator (MRR) assisted Mach-Zehnder interferometers (MZIs). We propose a heterogeneously integrated all-optical high-precision neural network for low power consumption.
