Pulse Oximeters, why a multi-wavelength approach could be used to detect other biomarkers?

Abstract

Two-wavelength oximetry limitations; sensitive to skin pigmentation and cannot detect other biomarkers. We report the potential of broadband transmissometry for multi-parameter assessment of blood that is also insensitive to skin pigmentation.
