Freeform Surfaces in Optical (Micro-)systems: From Parabasal Theory to Applications

Abstract

We present a generalized Scheimpflug condition for plane symmetric systems derived by an extension of the parabasal design approach. These analytical equations may have interesting implications for the design of planar integrated optical microsystems.
