Design and Implementation of a New Freeform Surface Based on Chebyshev Polynomials

Abstract

We present designs using a 2-D freeform surface based on Chebyshev polynomials, whose description have been incorporated into Zemax OpticStudio. The designs analyzed include a reflector for generating uniform illumination as well as a TMA telescope. Results are compared with polynomial and Zernike surface descriptions.
