Capillary discharge plasma as a preformed medium for table-top soft X-ray lasers

Abstract

Results of numerical simulations and measurements on the capillary discharge plasma used as an active medium for transient X-ray lasers are presented. The range of laser, pump parameters necessary for efficient collisional excitation is discussed.
