Abstract

We present a new LWFA instrument at SG-II PW laser facility, which employs f/23 focusing. The setup also adapted interferometric plasma density probing. By focusing 1-PW, 30-fs laser pulses to a 230 μm spot size in a plasma of 3−4×10¹⁸ cm^-3, the laser intensity reached a mild-relativistic level of 2.6×10¹⁸ W/cm² and electron beams are generated, yet several improvements are planned.
