Laser Electron Studies of Nonlinear QED

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

An experimental program is underway to use collisions of intense laser pulses with free electrons to study nonlinear QED processes such as nonlinear Compton scattering, pair creation by light, light-by-light scattering, and vacuum Cerenkov radiation.
