Abstract
Volume holographic memories are a prime candidate for the storage of large relational databases because of their large storage capacities1 and their associative nature2,3. We have successfully used a computer-controlled angular-multiplexing photorefractive-based volume holographic memory to store database records, search through the records, and recall the information stored in the memory. In this paper we present and discuss experimental results where the memory is accessed in its associative mode.
