Abstract

An exciplex system of perylene with N,N-dimethylani1ine (DMA) with strong exciplex fluorescence in liquid solution and no indication of complex formation in the ground state is studied in this work in a supersonic jet. The aim is to get insight into the dynamics of vibrational energy redistribution in extremly large excited complex characterized by a number of low-frequency vibrations. Furthermore, a problem of a non-bonding (or repulsive) ground state of exciplex vs. van der Waals complex formation is examined.
