Abstract

It is well known that A band excitation of monovalent ns2 ions incorporated into alkali halide lattices produces two emissïon bands designated as AT and AX [1]. This situation also appears in NaCl:Pb2+ with the special feature that the relative intensity of both emissions depend drastically on the aggregation state and is affected by additional doping with other divalent impurities [2].
