Abstract

CdF2 crystals doped with trivalent element and heated in Cd va pour become semiconducting(1). Electronic conduction is observed also in doped samples without any thermal treatment(2). At higher electric fields electroluminescence is also obtained and this effect has been evidenced in CdF2 crystals doped with Ga, Y, Sm, Eu, Gd and Tb.
