Entanglement through decoherence

Abstract

We show for two models how decoherence can lead to entanglement. In the Dicke model, coherent driving and collective coupling to a heat bath of ions in a trap exhibits entanglement. The same is true for dipole-interacting atoms with spontaneous emission.
