Factorization with thermal light: from first-order to n$^{th}$-order interference

Abstract

We first describe the experimental computation of a novel factoring algorithm based on continuous Gauss sums. Than, interestingly, we show how an exponential speed-up can be achieved by exploiting multi-photon n$^{th}$-order interference.
