Abstract
Nonlinear spectroscopy has become a very powerful tool for studying vibrational and electronic transitions in molecules.1 In particular, coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) has been predicted2 and demonstrated experimentally3 to be a very efficient process when performed with guided waves. We report experiments in which guided wave CARS was used to detect and identify monolayers of TiO2 on a Nb2O5 film surface.
