Facet Reflection Independent Oscillation of Semiconductor DFB Lasers Equipped with Gain Coupling Mechanism

By loading periodic loss perturbation into GaAlAs/GaAs distributed feedback lasers, we have realized complete single longitudinal mode oscillation which is scarcely disturbed by cleaved facet reflection. Our coupled mode analysis well explains this empirical results.
