Full aperture triple-pass Nd:YAG laser amplifier

Abstract

Single- and double-pass amplifier configurations that can efficiently extract stored energy over the entire aperture of the gain medium are commonplace; so too are multipass configurations where each pass through the medium extracts energy over aslightly different spatial path. Usually these latter require critical alignment and are limited to an effective extracting aperture that is less than that of the gain medium.
