Abstract
A new direct and simpler manner to find the monochromatic off-axis primary aberration coefficients is presented. The advantage of this derivation is that a good geometrical insight of the definition and meaning of these aberrations is obtained. Several interesting characteristics of these aberrations are easily visualized with this method.
