Abstract
A test program for the global optimization of optical systems is developed. It uses a combination of several algorithms, namely global search, simulated annealing, and damped-least-squares. Different merit functions are used in different calculation stage. Emphasis is placed on the balance of computer time consumption and optimization performance. Results of a test run are presented.
