Application of Linear MTF Model to Landsat 7 HRMSI Performance Prediction

Abstract

Using the linear MTF degradation model, a convenient tool has been developed that enables a design to be toleranced for MTF performance as a function of wavefront error perturbation. By integrating this computation model with conventional designing tools, end-of-life MTF performance can be quickly and accurately predicted. The HRMSI optical performance requirements will be presented and examples discussed that show how the MTF degradation model was used for optimization and design trades.
