New lens design for infrared systems with micro-scanning

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Traditionally the image quality, especially for the staring IR systems, is limited by the aliasing effects caused by the pitch size of the detectors. Therefore, the micro-scanning technique has been introduced to eliminate the aliasing effect. Normally, the concept of the micro-scanning technique is to create the “sub-pixel” between the original pixel arrays to achieve the higher Nyquest frequency. Many experiments even prototype have been done before but the systems with the characterization of the light weight and excellent reliability are still rare so far.
