Abstract

Gaussian Quadrature methods of selecting rays in ray-tracing are derived for non-circular pupil shapes, such as obscured and vignetted apertures, and are generalized for use in arbitrary wavelength bands. These design conditions perform as efficiently as the circular pupil case.
