DOEs for Color Correction in Broad Band Optical Systems: Validity and Limits of Efficiency Approximations

Abstract

Based on design examples of optical systems with DOEs for color correction, limits of diffraction efficiency approximations are discussed. These formulae enable optical designers to estimate the amount of stray light from unwanted diffraction orders.
