Extended Depth of Field in an Intrinsically Wavefront-Encoded Biometric Iris Camera

Abstract

We describe a method for increasing the depth of field of a biometric iris recognition camera with a variation on wavefront encoding. The encoding is achieved by decentering spherical lens elements, rather than introducing a phase mask.
