An Overview on Induced Color Aberrations

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

In this contribution at first an introduction on the basic idea of induced color aberration is given. Following this idea, an analytical description for axial and lateral color contributions will be derived. The new formulas represent an extension of the Seidel theory with 2nd-order effects regarding glass dispersion, allowing to distinguish between induced and intrinsic parts. The results we be illustrated by descriptive design examples.
